Abstract

To acknowledge the scientific scholars who have contributed to the advancement of knowledge and service without sacrifice to the homeland, it is necessary to to document their biography in a way to highlight their prominent personal characteristics for next generations. Prof. Abolhassan Nadim, the retired professor of epidemiology and the founder of modern epidemiology in Iran, holding PhD in Parasitology, Epidemiology and Laboratory Sciences, has carried out brilliant activities in the field of epidemiology and health at national, regional and international levels. His activities have been carried out in various areas of epidemiology and health, and his major activities are in various aspects of Leishmaniosis and phlebotomouses distibution. With more than 45 years of service, most of the graduates of epidemiology in the country, directly or indirectly, had been his students. A glimpse over the great life of Prof. Abulhassan Nadim, shows that the abundant knowledge, the constant effort and the love and interest in the honest service in their lives are the enlightening of the people who are walking in this way. © 2017, Iranian Epidemiological Association.
