Abstract

Selamectin (CAS #165108-07-6) is a semisynthetic avermectin used to control both endoparasites and ectoparasites in dogs and cats. It is marketed by Pfizer Animal Health as Revolution®. Selamectin blocks neurotransmission and results in the flaccid paralysis of the target insect but not in the mammalian nervous system; therefore, selamectin is considered much safer than other common insecticides. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
