Abstract

T oday, denture cost effective,implant-supported is considered yet as successful a simple, over-treatment strategy that provides the edentulous patient with several advantages. Increased retention and stability of the prosthesis along with comfort and function has considerably changed the quality of life of edentulous patients. Above all, it prevents the progressive bone resorption of the alveolar ridges.1,2 Despite the advantages, these systems still have shortcomings, with the late implant failures after prosthetic delivery being the most challenging. Therefore, there have been serious attempts to reduce the failures and make the results more promising. Generally, several factors are considered to influence the success of dental implant, among which are, the design of the implants, loading conditions, complications, and host-related factors. Proper biomechanical considerations are very important in the long-term survival of dental implants.3 © 2018 Wolters Kluwer Health, Inc. All rights reserved.
