Abstract

Hair develops from invagination of the epidermis and covers the whole body with the exception of the lips, palms, soles, nipples, tip of penis, and inner lips of vulva. It plays important role in maintaining self-esteem, normal social interaction, and insulation against detrimental environmental factors. In this chapter, the disorders affecting hair structure and hair-bearing skin are described. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2022. All rights are reserved.
