Abstract

A 2023 nationwide study of 386 Iranian married heterosexual men assessed compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD) and its correlation with demographic, sexual, and mental health variables. Using the cut-off point ≥ 18 of CSBD Scale-7, 5.2% were CSBD+. Univariate analysis revealed that CSBD+ men had higher rates of substance abuse, pornography use, paraphilic behaviors, sexual desire, arousal, orgasm ability, and younger age at first sex. After Bonferroni correction (p < 0.005), paraphilic behaviors and orgasm ability remained significant. Regression analysis showed positive associations between CSBD and lower age, substance use, extramarital affairs, paraphilic behaviors, higher sex drive, and less orgasm satisfaction. © 2024 Elsevier B.V., All rights reserved.
