Abstract

Due to the versatility of polyaniline (PANI), novel synthesis methods have been widely examined to enhance its properties. In recent years, the synthesis of PANI in the presence of metal oxide (MO) to achieve a PANI/MO nanocomposite with unique features has been studied with miscellaneous MOs. In general, due to their promising features, including optoelectric, sensing, and antibacterial characteristics, PANI/MO composites have been employed in such varied applications as optoelectric devices, sensors, and biomedical devices. In this chapter, PANI/MO nanocomposites are reviewed in brief, with emphasis placed on the usage of ZnO, TiO2, and SnO2. © 2020 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
