Abstract

The Cornea and Conjunctiva represents the components of the ocular surface; the Cornea is the transparent structure with optical functions and the Conjunctiva constitutes the remaining part of the ocular surface covering the sclera. The ocular surface may be affected by a variety of disorders, caused by a variety of external or internal pathogens. The basics, mechanism and treatment of these diseases will be briefly discussed in this chapter. © Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2020.
