Left Carotid Sheath Meningioma

Abstract

Although meningiomas are common tumors of the central nervous system, primary extracranial meningiomas are extremely rare. These tumors constitute approximately1% of all meningiomas. This study has reported a very rare case of meningioma on the left carotid sheath that presented as a left neck mass. We performed a core biopsy of the mass. Subsequently, the tumor was excised and histopathologic examination confirmed the diagnosis of primary extra cranial meningioma. © 2017, Shiraz University of Medical Sciences. All rights reserved.
