Abstract

4-Aminopyridine is an organic compound with the chemical formula C5H6N2. 4-Aminopyridine is a member of a family of mono-amino and di-amino derivatives of pyridine. It is a white to off-white hygroscopic powder, practically soluble in water. 4-AP has no stereochemical centers. Its pKa is 9.17 (indicating that this compound is protonated free base). No evidence of polymorphism has been found. This chemical is an extremely effective bird poison and was developed in 1963 as a bird poison. © 2024 Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
