Abstract

Background: Researchers have contributed to the definition of SoTL; however, the literature is not conclusive on its definitions and attributes. Therefore, this study was an attempt to precisely define SoTL by its attributes, antecedents and consequences. Methods: The Walker and Avant (2011) concept analysis method was used. Results: The 9 emerged attributes are: Committed engagement in action, Critique-based, Disciplinary, Context-oriented, Critical enquiry process, Continuous deep reflection, Dynamic process, Shared publicly, and Learning focused. Conclusion: This study helps promote understanding and application of SoTL. © Iran University of Medical Sciences.
