Abstract

Jet plasma or cool atmospheric plasma (J-plasma) is an advanced medical technology that utilizes plasma energy for various therapeutic and cosmetic procedures. Plasma, often referred to as the fourth state of matter, produced by running helium-gas through radiofrequency energy, is a highly energized gas that contains charged particles. When this plasma energy is directed onto the skin or tissue, it can produce a range of beneficial effects including skin tightening, facial wrinkle and line ablation, scar revision, skin pigmentation removal, tattoo removal, and non-surgical blepharoplasty. The use of jet plasma has gained popularity in recent years due to its versatility and effectiveness in treating various conditions because in this non aggressive method, energy delivered to the target tissues (like skin subdermal) with a least side effect of injury to surrounding tissues. © The Editor(s) (if applicable) and The Author(s), under exclusive license to Springer Nature Switzerland AG 2025.
