Abstract

Chlorsulfuron is a sulfonylurea herbicide, widely used in agriculture in order to control weeds. As an acetolactate synthase inhibitor, it blocks some of the necessary processes in cell division and causes the weeds to decay. Compared to traditional herbicides, chlorsulfuron is highly effective while used at much lower amounts and has relatively low acute and chronic animal toxicity, making it a popular choice worldwide. © 2024 Elsevier Inc.
