Abstract

Recently, there has been an emerging trend for immediately sequential bilateral cataract surgery (ISBCS). Although ISBCS is safe and has several advantages over delayed sequential bilateral cataract surgery, there are still several barriers to the full adoption of ISBCS, including surgeons' mindset, economic factors, medico-legal issues, etc. Dealing with these challenges to promote ISBCS may additionally advance the whole ophthalmology field. © 2023 Elsevier Inc.
