Abstract

Introduction: One of the atmospheric phenomenon of arid and semi-arid and adjacent area is dust and dust storms, as the most prominent phenomenon which greatly effects and covered the area and causing atmosphere clouding, reducing horizontal and vertical visibility and influences many other environmental factors, social, economic and health. Objective: The aim of this study was to determine the outcome of dust phenomenon and determine its impact on the tourism industry and the number of injuries and deaths from accidents in the last few years of Kermanshah city. This study is descriptiveanalytic. Methods: In this research statistics and data that related to the occurrence of dust (particulate concentration PM10), the number of tourism and injuries and deaths from accidents during the period of 6 years in Kermanshah has been collected from the environmental department, cultural heritage, handicrafts and tourism and medical examiner's office of Kermanshah province. For data analysis, descriptive and analytic statistics EXCEL 2007 and SPSS 19 software were used. Results: The total average PM10 during the period of 5 years is 122.82 μg/m3 with standard deviation of 55.02. Between particle and dust concentration and injuries and deaths from accidents and tourism in Kermanshah city the p-value is receptively 0.771, 0.004 and 0.030. Conclusion: The results showed that there is a significant relation between the dusts concentration and the number of tourists and deaths from accidents in Kermanshah that by increasing the dusts concentration the number of tourists and deaths from accidents has decreased.
